1. When you type in a web address in your Internet browser toolbar without the "www." and without the ".com" and hold down the "ctrl" key while hitting the "enter" key it will automatically put in the "www." and the ".com" for you.
2. If you can't see the text on a web page because it is too small try holding down the "ctrl" key while scrolling your wheel on your wheel mouse. This will automatically make the text larger or smaller on your screen depending on which way you are scrolling.
3. When you accidentally delete a message from your email you can sometimes bring it back by holding down the "ctrl" key and pressing the "z" key.
4. If you need to print a web page and those darn web designers have taken away your print button, and your drop down menus, then try holding down the "ctrl" button while pressing on "p". This should let you print the page you are currently on.
5. This one is just for fun. Go to www.amford.com at the top of the page you'll see a great photo of Trail, BC. When we were designing the site we mistakenly thought the bridge was a train bridge and so we animated it by having a train cross the bridge. The dealership later pointed out that this was a vehicle bridge. We replaced the train with some vehicles crossing the bridge but we hid the train so that you can still see it cross the bridge if you click on the sun. Hiding things this way within a program is called an "Easter egg". Just about every program you use has at least one. For example Microsoft word has a hidden flight simulator. Also if you open Microsoft Word and type "= rand (200,99)" and then press "enter" and wait 3 seconds something will happen. See if you can find the "Easter egg" at www.SouthThompsonRV.com and let me know.
5. Here is the 90/10 rule. 90 percent of auto dealers are sleeping at the wheel when merchandising their inventory online. 90 percent of consumers are looking for vehicle options online that are NOT being displayed even though the vehicles have them. 10 percent of the auto dealers are taking 90 percent of the online business. Here are some examples of options that consumers are looking for which dealers rarely ever enter into their online pre-owned inventory:
- Winter Tires
- Cup Holders
- Built-in Child Seat
- Height Adjustable Seats
- Child Proof Door Locks
- Map Lights
- MP3 or Satellite Radio
- Rear Stereo controls
- OnStar System
- Original Owner's Manual
- Rear Fold-Down Seats
- Full Size Spare Tire
- Touring or Sport Suspension
- Long or Extended Wheel Base
- Second Set of Keys
- More Than One FOB
- Auxiliary Fuel Tank
- Front Parking Assist
